This was a reminder to be present and aware of all my senses to truly immerse myself in an experience.
As a person who regularly seeks alone time in nature for self-care, I often wish I could share the experience with my friends. Then I realize that that would defeat the purpose of alone time! I found the Nurtured Minds Wellness Retreat to be the best of both worlds: an introspective and nourishing experience for the individual in the company of others. It was quiet and restful while being organized with many thoughtful activities. Charlie is an amazing host and her property is a perfect retreat spot.. Highly recommend this experience!
It was a wonderful event! It was so nice to slow down and have excellent guides to take us through the day.
What an amazing team and space! Everyone should try guided forest therapy or walk and talk therapy here. Whether you are an avid outdoorsperson or more comfortable indoors this experience will be impactful for you.
I really appreciated having the opportunity to experience multiple modalities (yoga, prompts during the forest walk, meditation, intention activity, and sound bath) to try out, and paired with explanation of why they are beneficial for our wellness and nervous system. It allowed me to try new things, and I walked away with new ideas of what I can incorporate into my daily life and wellness rituals. Yoga is easily accessible but the guided forest walk and sound bath specifically were activities that I have never had the opportunity to try.
I appreciated the touches of having bolsters to sit on, cold cloths at the sound bath, and blankets to put under the yoga mats.
My first retreat with Nurtured Minds was a wonderful way to experience a variety of wellness activities in a peaceful rural setting. The day was filled with opportunities for relaxation, learning, solitude, and connecting with others. I left the retreat feeling refreshed with many new tools to incorporate into my personal wellness journey. Lately, my life has been incredibly hectic, and I've struggled with focus and concentration. Sleepless nights have become a norm as I grapple with calming my mind. I thought working harder and staying up late would help me catch up, but it only made things worse.
Initially, I was hesitant about the retreat. I had never done yoga in the forest or experienced a sound bath. The idea of slowing down and intentionally immersing myself in nature, not to mention sharing the experience with strangers, felt unfamiliar and somewhat daunting.
However, by the end of the retreat, my mind was at peace, and the strangers had become warm, welcoming friends. On the way home, I noticed a profound difference in my breathing—it was deeper and more satisfying. I felt a calmness I hadn’t experienced in a long time.
What truly amazed me was the quality of work I was able to accomplish that afternoon. I hadn’t been able to concentrate like that in ages. The retreat made me realize that what I needed was to slow down and calm my mind to regain my focus, and "Nurtured Minds" helped me do just that.
