Meet Kayla Huszar, Therapist for Parents

Counselling and Coaching for Parents in Leduc, AB

with Kayla Huszar

(she/her)

Therapist, Registered Social Worker

Helping you navigate the challenges of parenting so you can feel calm and confident at the end of the day.

You are a parent, you love your kids, but something feels off. Maybe…

  • it doesn’t matter how much you do, it doesn’t feel like it’s enough

  • you wonder if you are a “good” parent

  • you’ve lost your patience a time or two (or twenty)

The endless cycle of parenting makes you feel like there’s something wrong with you, but here’s the thing: you were never the problem. You just didn’t have someone in your corner guiding you through a new approach and cheering you on.

Kayla will help you process and decrease the load you carry so you can start to feel like yourself again.

Kayla is a Registered Social Worker (ACSW), she specializes in working with parents*. Through therapy, she will help you regulate your emotions, boost your mood and enjoy parenting (again).

Expressive Art Therapy (EXAT) is an evidence-based form of therapy used to express and cope with the pressures and stressors of parenthood.

When Kayla uses EXAT with parents, she starts by finding out what keeps you up at night and then together we figure out what you need by getting to the root cause of your stressors so that you can:

  • express your frustrations, fears, and anxieties without judgement

  • better understand and respond to your children's needs

  • manage challenging behaviours

  • reduce stress and incorporate self-care that actually makes a difference

  • navigate family drama

  • reflect on your own upbringing and how it influences your parenting style

  • feel more confident

  • see yourself as capable and enough!

* parent = folks who have experienced pregnancy, adoption, loss, fertility treatments, in-the-thick-of-the-baby days, or everyday parenting, including but not limited to parents of toddlers, preschoolers, schoolagers, teenagers, empty nesters, and even grandparenting.

You hold so much. Let Kayla hold space for you.

How to get started

  1. Click the “Book with Kayla” button, choose discovery call and a time that works for you.

  2. If we are a good fit, we’ll schedule your first session.

Kayla Huszar

I believe that women are not given the tools to succeed in parenting. Constantly striving for an unattainable standard leaves mothers feeling inadequate and overwhelmed.

Through the use of creative arts, there is a beautiful moment of sacred stillness. A simple act of intentional creativity can remind a mother of who she is, what is truly important, and what she is capable of.

I aim to provide the best creative arts services both online and in person, because every mother deserves a simple and effective outlet for finding chill, being vibrant and feeling alive.
