A Safe Place to Heal: Therapy for Trauma, Anxiety, and Recovery

Healing is rarely a straight path. For many, it can feel isolating, confusing, and overwhelming, especially when trying to navigate trauma, anxiety, or the complex journey of addiction recovery alone. Jas understands these struggles deeply. As a registered therapist specializing in trauma, anxiety, and addiction recovery, he brings a compassionate and grounded presence to every session, helping clients find their footing when life feels heavy.

With advanced training in EMDR therapy and years of lived experience in recovery, Jas knows firsthand how easy it is to feel trapped in cycles of fear, avoidance, and self-doubt. He also knows how transformative it can be to experience support that meets you exactly where you are. Healing is challenging, but it is possible, and it becomes more attainable when you do not have to face it alone.

A Safe and Supportive Space

Now practicing at Nurtured Minds, Jas offers a space where clients can unpack their stories at their own pace. His approach is collaborative and strengths-based. Every session focuses on what is already working while building practical tools to support real, sustainable change. Clients leave with more than coping strategies. They leave with a sense of empowerment and confidence in their ability to navigate life’s challenges.

Whether the focus is trauma, anxiety, or substance use recovery, Jas works alongside each person to create a therapeutic experience that feels safe, validating, and personal. Every session is designed to honor the client’s pace, their experiences, and their resilience.

Therapeutic Approaches

Jas integrates a variety of evidence-based methods to meet clients’ unique needs, including:

  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to gently process traumatic memories, reduce emotional intensity, and restore a sense of safety

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to identify and shift unhelpful thought patterns and feel more grounded and empowered

  • Solution-Focused Therapy to build on existing strengths and create practical, forward-focused strategies

  • Narrative Therapy to explore and reshape the internal stories that influence identity and experience

  • Strengths-Based and Trauma-Informed Care to work at a pace that respects the nervous system and celebrates resilience

Specialized Support

Jas provides therapy for individuals navigating a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, panic, depression, trauma, PTSD, substance use recovery, emotional regulation challenges, stress, burnout, grief, loss, life transitions, low self-esteem, tech overuse, and coping fatigue. His work is designed for anyone who feels weighed down by life’s challenges and is ready to reclaim a sense of safety, control, and hope.

More Than His Work

Outside the therapy room, Jas finds balance and grounding in simple routines and moments of connection. His favorite color is deep navy blue. He enjoys strong coffee, soft music, and long walks with his dog on Sundays. If he could offer one word of advice to anyone struggling with life’s challenges, it would be simple and essential: breathe.

Jas believes that while healing can be hard, it does not have to happen alone. With patience, compassion, and a trauma-informed approach, he helps individuals move from survival to growth, from fear to confidence, and from isolation to connection.
